Covid-19 third wave to hit India in next 6-8 weeks!

All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) director Randeep Guleria cautioned toward the third wave of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and said it could hit the nation in the next six to eight weeks.

Emphasizing the necessity of understanding relevant Covid-19 responses, Guleria remarked that people should rigorously adhere to face protection and social distancing measures until a sizable population is vaccinated.

“If Covid-appropriate behaviour is not followed, the third wave can happen in six to eight weeks. We need to work aggressively to prevent another large wave till vaccination kicks in,” the news agency excerpted the senior physician as saying.

Addressing lockdown actions to manage the outbreak, Guleria said it could not be the answer, keeping the mortifying impact on the earnings in the picture. He recommended an intrusive monitoring policy in Covid hotspots and lockdowns in case of any notable surge in preventive actions.

Pointing to the various articles alleging that the next wave will put kids in the unprotected section, Guleria reemphasized that there is no proof to recommend that.

Presently, India’s epidemiologists intimated that the third wave of Covid-19 is imminent and is expected to start from September-October.

After keeping a constant decline in everyday cases, India was hit by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in April and May. During this, many people ceased to the viral disease while the number of daily cases surpassed the 400,000-mark. The number has now come to underneath 70,000 in the last few days.

According to the daily news by the Union ministry of health family welfare, India recorded 60,753 new cases over the last 24 hours. India’s total tally now reaches 29,823,546. While the number of active points has come down to 7,60,019, the lowest in 74 days.

The mortality casualties soared to 385,137 with 1,647 new fatalities, and active cases constitute 2.55 percent of the entire infections. At the same time, the national Covid-19 healing rate has increased to 96.16 percent.

The June 3-17 snap review of 40 healthcare professionals, physicians, specialists, virologists, epidemiologists, and educators from around the world bestowed a notable pickup in immunizations that would likely provide some protection to a fresh outbreak.
