Hotel Mario: Everything you need to know about this game

Hotel Mario is a puzzle video game developed by Fantasy Factory and published by Philips Interactive Media in the year 1994. The producer of Hotel Mario is Michael Ahn and the design of the video game is done is by Stephen Radosh.

It is one of the four games that features Nintendo characters that were published for CD-1, and the others were The Three Legends of Zelda games. The license to feature the character from Nintendo in Hotel Mario was approved by Nintendo on a deal with Philips to create Super Nintendo Entertainment System CD-ROM.

What is the game about?

The mode to play Hotel Mario is available in two forms single and multiplayer. Players who control Mario or his brother Luigui, in multiplayer mode, who must find Princess Toadstool who has been kidnapped by Bowser. To save her, the player have to go through the seven hotels in the Mushroom Kingdom. The hotels are divided into stages, and the main objective is to close the doors of each stage that Mario passes through by moving up, and down the elevators and avoiding enemies. At the end of each hotel, there’s a boss fight with one of Bowser’s Koopalings that culminates a battle with Bowser. Hotel Mario features good animations and few power ups that includes the SuperMushroom allowing Mario to take multiple hits, Star Man making him invincible, and Fire Flowers allowing him to throw fireballs.

The video game, Hotel Mario wasn’t received well by the critics. It was a mixed review from both the ends, the audience and critics globally. The critics said it has a fun outlook but the appeal doesn’t last long. Hotel Mario received criticism for unresponsive control, voice acting, and video scenes cut.
