Johnny Depp has been the center of news lately. Apparently, Depp is in the middle of legal trouble with his ex Amber Heard. But before getting into the issue here, let’s know a little bit more about Johnny first!

If this question was raised in your mind, then you must have been living under some rock. Johnny Depp is an amazing actor, who has constantly given brilliant performances. Besides, he is also known to be a producer and a great musician. Johnny was born on 9 June 1963 in Kentucky. Certainly, with a guitar which he was gifted at 12, he found himself on the road of music. He played in various bands. Depp even dropped out of school to become a rock musician. Later, after marrying Lori Allison, who was a makeup artist, Johnny got acquainted with Nicolas Cage through his wife. With his advice, Johnny tried his hands at acting.
As a result, Johnny was featured in many movies such as “Sweeny Todd”, “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, “21 Jump Street”, “Finding Neverland” etc. And not to forget, Depp’s notable mentions include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Corpse Bride”, “Alice in Wonderland”, “Rango”, “Into the Woods”, and above all, “Pirates of the Caribbean”.
Johnny Depp’s Relationships
After divorcing Allison, Johnny dated various celebrities. Depp was even engaged to Jennifer Grey, Sherilyn Fenn and Winona Ryder. He also dated Kate Moss and Vanessa Paradis. While he was in a relationship with Vanessa Paradis, the couple had two kids. However, that relationship didn’t last either. Subsequently, Depp began dating Amber Heard and got married in 2015. But, Heard filed for divorce in 2016 and the whole process was fairly chaotic. Nonetheless, the impact of the breakup can still be seen today. We will discuss that in the next section.
Johnny Depp: Legal Trouble with Amber Heard
Depp’s journey with Amber Heard has been one hell of a ride. Their divorce itself was very controversial. Heard had alleged Johnny of verbal and physical abuse. On the other hand, Johnny’s attorney alleged that Heard was attempting to secure financial resolution. However, the divorce was finalized and the couple officially separated.
Later in 2019, Depp sued his ex-wife for defamation over an op-ed she did for The Washington Post. He alleged that the whole thing was centered on Heard being a domestic abuse victim. Moreover, Depp in return had claimed that Heard had physically abused him and called her claims a hoax.
Consequently, Heard countered him by suing him alleging that he coordinated “a harassment campaign via Twitter” and attempting to get her fired from Aquaman and L’oreal through online petitions. Finally, Depp brought a libel lawsuit against The Sun for calling him a “wife-beater”. However, in November 2020, the court ruled against Depp. As a result, he lost the role from Fantastic Beasts. Nonetheless, the case hasn’t ended yet. Johnny Depp is planning to appeal the decision.
