Stephen Amell Explains Being Removed from Delta Flight!

Canadian actor and producer Stephen Amell, popularly known for his work in superhero series Arrow, made it to the news highlight for being removed from the Delta flight.

Apparently, the actor was travelling back in June on Delta flight, from Austin to Los Angeles, when he was removed from the flight due to his poor and unprofessional behavior as he was arguing with his wife Cassandra Amell. Finally, Amell explained what actually happened that day and expressed his regret for whatever he did.

Stephen Amell appeared on Tuesday’s episode of the “Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum” podcast, where he addressed the Delta Flight incident. The 40-year-old actor told, “What happened was — and it’s very, very simple — I had too many drinks, and I had too many drinks in a public place. And I got on a plane.”

The Arrow actor also clarified that his wife Cassandra had nothing to do with his aggressive outburst on the flight. He continued, “I was pissed off about something else that had nothing to do with Cass, my wife, and I picked a fight. I picked a fight because I wanted to be loud and upset. And it was a fight, it was not an argument.”

“In order to have an argument, two people have to be talking. My wife said one thing the entire time, which was, ‘If you don’t lower your voice, they’re going to ask you to get off the plane.’ That’s the only thing she said the entire time,” told Amell.

Stephen also shared that he does not remember what exactly he was upset about, but he stated that it was not an important issue. Moreover, the actor also remembers being loud as he was wearing noise cancelling headphones and he did not realize at the time how loud he was. Amell also recalls drinking a little too much and not being able to handle his booze.

Stating his self-realization of his shameful actions, Stephen said, “It was not an argument … This is 100 percent my fault. Like, I feel like I went the better part of 10 years without being an a—hole in public. I was an a—hole in public.

“It’s really, really shameful… And it makes you kind of look in the mirror. And I just realized a couple of things: if people are going to recognize you, don’t necessarily drink in a public place, but more importantly, don’t drink in a public place if you can’t handle your s—,” Stephen clarified.

Back in June, Amell had addressed the incident for the first time. On 23 June, the actor had tweeted, “My wife and I got into an argument Monday afternoon on a Delta flight from Austin to LA. I was asked to lower my voice and I did. Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed.”

Stephen had further updated that he went back home via another flight that he had to rebook. “I rebooked myself on a Southwest flight 2 hours later and traveled home without any further issues. I let my emotions get the better of me, end of the story. Must be a slow news cycle.”

Moreover, at the time, without mentioning Amell’s name, the Delta Flight had told via a statement to outlet People, “Delta flight 966 on June 21 took a brief, eight-minute departure delay after an unruly customer was deplaned from the aircraft prior to departure in Austin. The flight arrived ahead of schedule at Los Angeles International Airport.”

Needless to say, Cassandra was “super pissed” about the whole situation. As told by Stephen on the podcast, his wife got “even more pissed when I said argument instead of ‘pick a fight.'”

“The whole thing sucks,” he added. “It’s really, really shameful and it makes you kind of look in the mirror.”

Moreover, Amell also shared that he has been unable to handle his alcohol “on occasions,” but he is also trying to get better and “to make amends… especially with my wife.” Amell said. “It’s a work in progress, it’s not the best,” he said of where they stand today. “You can work through things, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.”

Amell met Cassandra Jean, who is also an actress and the America’s Next Top Model alum and the two got married in December 2012. Subsequently, the couple has tied the knot a second time in New Orleans in May 2013. Moreover, Stephen and Cassandra Jean also have a seven year old daughter n Mavi Alexandra Jean.
